Malaysian driftwood is a unique, highly variable dense wood suitable for a wide variety of reptile enclosures. With natural curves, gaps, and divots, each piece tells a story of how it grew, and was weathered.
Malaysian driftwood is very dense, allowing it to sink in water, making it a great fit for paludariums in addition to terrariums. It is resistant to mold and rot making it a great option for any reptile enclosure, no matter the humidity level.
Use as a climbing or basking structure in your reptile's enclosure, or incorporate it into a custom background for a unique look!

Clean with veterinary disinfectant (e.g., chlorhexidine) or bake at 250°F for 1-2 hours. If baking, monitor closely to avoid scorching or fire.
Ensure the branch is securely positioned to prevent shifting or falling that could harm your reptile.
Malaysian Driftwood resists rot but isn’t immune. Clean often and provide dry periods to mitigate these issues.
Driftwood can leach tannins which may tint water features. If you do not desire this effect, boiling prior to installation can reduce the amount leached.

In addition to the size checks, we also appraise the quality of your wood product based on whether or not it passes the following quality checks:
Could an appropriately sized reptile feasibly sit on this piece of wood?
Your new malaysian driftwood was designed to be a basking spot for both terrestrial and aquatic style reptiles. Wood that cannot be reasonably sat on by a reptile of the appropriate size will not be sent to you.
Is the piece free of sharp edges?
We ensure that your malaysian driftwood does not feature excessively sharp edges that could potentially harm you or your reptile. This is especially important on driftwood, which can be naturally pointed.
