Hi, I just bought a baby crested. He's about 3 inches or so. I got him today and set him up in a kritter keeper and will let him settle. Only problem is that I noticed when I got home that his crests on his left eye still has shedding skin. I can tell because the crests are whiter than the ones on the other eye. He also has a VERY thin white line of shed across his eyeball. It doesn't move when he licks his eyeball. Should I be concerned about this and give him one of those bath sauna things? I *really* don't want to stress him out and I don't even know if I can use a wet cuetip on an eyeball (lol) or if he would even let me. He's my first crested and I'm nervous around him. Will it make his crests fall off if it remains? Please tell me what to do.

PS. I tried to get a picture to show you guys my new baby but he's hiding in the leaves, I will keep trying. :)

Fed them last night and one of the three in the enclosure is about to lay. Treatment will start in a couple of days. Figured I'd share the picture since I was able to get a decent one.

Hello all

I thought i would share some pics of my incubator and some of the eggs incubating.

Hello all

I thought i would share some pics of my incubator and some of the eggs incubating.

I use a minifridge incubator. The temp on the incubator itself is a little off. Experimenting with a thermometer in the boxes has the temp usually at about 76 on the top shelf + or - 2 degrees or so. The bottom shelf i find is usually about 73-75 a little cooler. A lot of people mention these incubators breaking down, mine has been going strong since february. There are plenty of cheaper minifridges that also heat and cool, but this is just about the only model i have found with a window.

Wish these eggs some luck becoming geckos,
Thanks for looking!

So we just got a new Full Pin female, who is a big girl, But we noticed that her tail goes off to the left side. The part just before the tail as well. I dont know if this is a problem, if she had MBD or if she has MBD, or developing MBD. It doesn't seem to be causing her any problems, she is eating VERY well and is all good otherwise. When she is hanging off the wall her tail wont stay flat with her it hangs down, in the way that will cause FTS. I will post pics later of her :) Thanks in advanced....

hello everyone. 2 days ago i had my first crested gecko egg hatch. i was so excited being my first baby. i put it in a critter keeper with a hide box, it got the shed off of its back and front right foot but not his back end or left foot. i waited until last night to feed him some CGD i put a small amount on his jaw and left hime alone. i mist 3 times a day as the critter keeper would dry out. the room it is in is about 74-80(on really hot days) during the day and about 65-70 at night. my girfriend went to mist this morning and found him on his back. she flipped him over and after that he was moving around fine as she says. i rushed home from work to get home and care for my baby, but when i arrived he had already passed away...R.I.P. lil baby. i performed an autopsy. i didnt find any discoloration, or CGD, or any superhatch whish i use as a incubator. i did find some almost crunchy looking yellow stuff and nothing else. i put him back together, wrapped him up in t.p like a mummy, and flushed him down the toilet. i do not want him to get dug up outside or eaten by flies in the trash inside... does anyone have any pointers for when the next baby comes out of its egg as i never want to bear that again. what do you guys do with your hatchling when they hatch? is there anything i did wrong? would force feeding have helped? did i give him to much or to little time before serving him food?

Since my transmission has decided to die, and I have some other various expenses, I'd like to move the following out:

Male lavender creamy pin. This guy is really, really creamy, and has been throwing some awesome offspring.

$250 - Until Tuesday, get him for $185

Young Mainland Chahoua. This one I think will be a true stunner. From a high red/green line. Really, really don't want to let him go, but books for school and auto repair bills are kind of the deciding factor. He's getting big crazy fast.

$500 - Until Tuesday, get him for $415

In another ad, I have a probable pair of adult Northern Blue Tongue skinks ($300) Til Tuesday, take them both for $250

Additionally, I have two hatchling cresteds available, and will include one in each purchase for the first people who buy an animal I have listed here. These are from a creamy lavender pinstripe x creamy extreme harlequin/red patternless cross. - One of these may already be spoken for.

**Shipping if you buy these before Tuesday is a flat rate of $25!

I know that the weather in many locations may be too hot to ship still, but as long as I receive a deposit by the end of Labor day, the lower price and $25 shipping price still stand :) As always, more photos are available of each animal. I ship via FedEx Priority O/N.

Thanks!
Kai

I have been researching these guys for a bit, and went through and read everything I could find on these forums pertaining to them. I just ordered a CBB pair of 4 inch juvies (siblings, so I won't be breeding them together, but if I like them, I may add some unrelated animals). Can anyone help me out with any advice? The setup I'm going to do is a 66 quart rubbermaid tub, with paper towels as substrate and lots of fake plants and vines. Maybe some corkbark? My house tends to stay around 75 degrees, maybe down to the 60's at night, so I'm thinking of installing some heating there as well, although its going to be warm here for at least another month or two. Any help from other gehyra owners would be awesome and much appreciated.

I just purchased a female crested gecko female yesterday at a reptile show. She's a cute little thing and weighs 25 grams and is 8 inches long. They told me she is about 1 year, but I don't really agree with comparing her to some of my other females. They also told me that she has already been breed! They had one of her hatchlings there for sale too. I couldn't believe it!!! I know you should not breed females until they are at least 35 grams, 40 is best. I know once they are breed, they may lay fertile eggs for the season. Is there something I can do to help her so she doesn't crash from laying eggs when she's so young and without enough weight to make it safe? I am adding a bit of extra calcium to her CGD and dusting her crickets. Just wanted to know if there is more that I can do for this poor girl. :(
Thanks for any and all help!!!
